The world’s earliest Bible and oldest manuscript of the same gospels, circa the mid-fourth century can be read online at http://www.codexsinaiticus.org. According to a recent article in The Economist, the various sections of the original manuscript can be found in four different locations–at the British Library in London, the University of Leipzig, the National Library of Russia in St. Petersburg, and the ancient monastery of St. Catherine’s on the slopes of Mount Sinai, which is the Bible’s original home.—The Economist, July 18, 2009, Books and arts, page 82.
