Daley Center Hosted Bastille Day Chicago on July 14, 2014

The Fête de la Bastille on July 14, 2014 celebrates Independence Day for France and French-speaking people around the world. The French Consulate General in Chicago hosted Bastille Day Chicago 2014 at the Daley Plaza along with l’Alliance Française de Chicago, Groupe Professionel Francophone, Français du monde, AAGEF. FIABCI-USA, l’Union des français à l’étranger. Other partners celebration Bastille Day Chicago 2014 included the French in Chicago, the French-American Chamber of Commerce, and the University of Chicago French Club.

This year, the Pétanque Club set out to teach how to play the French national game of Pétanque and show how the participants throwing balls are competing to lead in this sport. Pétanque aficionados were eager and very enthusiastic playing this game.

Pétanque Chicago is represented at the Bastille Day 2014 Celebration.

David Reithoffer from the Groupe Professionel Francophone hosted the music entertainment and the festivities during the performance by the French band: HK et les Saltimbanks, featuring Naila.
