Navy Pier is celebrating diversity in Chicago’s neighborhoods showcasing its multicultural global and local ethnic communities during this 4th annual cross-cultural tribute to Neighborhoods of the World on Sundays, in March through April 13th this year.

Last February 16, the Chinese Celebration of the Lantern Festival was sponsored in partnership with the Chinese Fine Arts Society.

On Sunday, the General Consul of the Republic of Lithuania presented the Lithuanian Independence Day sponsored by the Minister of Education from Lithuania, the City of Chicago, and U.S. Senator Richard Durbin, whose mother has been a national Lithuanian advocate from her native country.

Next Sunday, March 9, 2014, Neighborhoods of the World will celebrate Mexico in partnership with the Mexico Tourism Board and the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago, Illinois.

The third week of March, the National Hellenic Museum and the Consulate General of Greece will host a Greek celebration on Sunday,March 16th.

Other intercultural celebrations are planned for the following Sundays at the Crystal Gardens, next to the Children’s Museum at Navy Pier by Lake Michigan.

Enjoy international music, folkloric dance, ethnic costumes, craftsmanship from local folk artists from the Neighborhoods of the World in Chicago.
