Grandmother Cezi’s brother Gilbert Ruiz found four parakeets in a cage to give as a gift for his older sister. GrandMother called out her grandchildren’s names…Sarah, Eric, Jessica and Johnny. Each parakeet chirped and looked up as they were called in turn. Now that the older grandchildren Sarah and Eric are at Juniatta College, GrandMa Cezi misses their company in town. She visits the younger grandchildren Jessica and Johnny after school from Jackson Middle School. The parakeets remind Cezi of her four grandchildren, when they are not around. Cezi has to watch over the parakeets, feed them, take care of them, like the young people and the children. The parakeets keep company for Grandmother Cezi when her grandchildren are not around town.
